Caddy 1.6 cr TDi not starting

Post by blaster1 »

Hi all just got my self a caddy 1.6 tdi bluemotion that was crash damaged driver side front.
Problem I have is engine will crank over fine but don't start if I spray easy start in the air in-take the van will run for a short second
and cut out my guess is fuel problem is there a cut out switch that might have triggered from the crash hidden some where
thanks Blaster :?

Doesn't the "car with a key in it" symbol light up on the dash?
Sounds like the immobilizer is preventing start, or the fuse for the fuel pump might be blown.

No but coil light flashing on dash if that helps.

That's saying the ECU has an error. Do you have access to (someone with) VCDS?

Right spent a couple of days sorting out the messy wiring that got rid of 7 faults main problem I'm left with at the moment is no error lights on dash except steering and abs battery was removed but can't reset them till van is running turn engineering over just keeps cranking then after about 1 min of cranking get coil flashing on dash and error on vcds

Mode 7: pending emissions related fault codes

Address 7e8: 1 fault found

P006C - high pressure fuel rail: minimum pressure not reached.

The guy I got van from said he has fitted a new pump and I does look very new will get a vacuum pump tomorrow to see if there is any air in system is there any thing else it could be
Thanks :D .

There might be a option in VCDS to "bleed" the fuel system, like you can with the brake system.

Haven't come across it though, but haven't looked for it too though to be honest

Yes there is but I think it only pressureis the tank pump not the high pressure pump . So will try vacuum pump on the system when I get one tomorrow see if I get any air out as I don't want to damage the new hpfp that's been fitted [THUMBS UP SIGN]
