Eurotunnel with Caddy?

Post by Clements »

My caddy isn't with me at moment so can't measure its height

Vw say its 1,833mm in height

Eurotunnel limit is 1,850 for cars (going a big group so want to stay together in theory)

Mine is lowered and will have touran small alloys or 18/19 by time I travel

It sounds just within on paper but want to know has anyone actually done it weather standard or lowered

Many thanks in advance

Hello. Been on euro tunnel at standard height and with van lowered no problems just book as if a car. But even now with mine lowered I still duck when I go under concrete blocks which are there to stop over height vehicles. You have a good trip.

Thankyou very much mate, stopped me worrying and save me a wedge, car train is a lot cheaper than the bigger bus/truck carriages! Cheers

I was wondering this myself as I'm off to the alps in the summer, glad someone has done it as my roof would not fancy connecting with the weights they have hanging down

Going in July to Morzine with some friends, then in August I'm going with the wife to Morzine where we will base for a week or so and maybe go to Chatel, Les Gets or Champery, then head down to Les Deux Alps and Alp D'Huez

Nothing is booked yet so I better get a move on.......

Going by the spec sheet, the Caddy Life is 1822 mm high and the Maxi Life is 1861 mm high.

The standard Caddy should be 1822 mm high as the reason for the extra height with the Maxi Life is the roof rails.

Don't worry, my previous vehicle was a Hiace SBV at 1.96 m tall. It is weird how you duck when you see a low roof approaching :-D
