Re: keys questions
do not try removing the transponder!!!!!!!!!!!
just done one on my audi, £4.99 key case and blank from ebay, broke transponder £250,7 days with no car (only one key) later all for a £4.99 key!! take the new/used key to vw for coding at a cost of £80.

Re: keys questions
it's possible, not all of the transponder chips are glued in. so what i'd say is split the fob in 2 and if the chip falls out, or can be prised out gently then it's ok. but if it's glued in, don't bother just put it back togetheraudiobull wrote:do not try removing the transponder!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: keys questions
Yeah I swapped mine, it was glued in my original key and not in the other, just take your time with it and try and scrape the glue away, I used some expanding foam remover on it and it seemed to soften the glue a little

Re: keys questions
if its glued just leave it well alone i say. if its a spare key then its worth the risk. if you only have one leave it as is and just change the button rubber. we cant go suggesting for people to do something that can render there caddy fooked and expensive to repair.
