A/C retrofit
to retrofit AC to the caddy, does the engine have to come out?
I remember my old golf had lots of pipework running around the engine, i think you would have needed to take the engine out OR a hell of alot of the contents of the bay to fit those pipes.
so just wondering, has it been done before?

I priced up all the parts off etka needed to retrofit ac and once it got to £3k I gave up! Fitting it would be monumental task but not sure whether engine would need to come out.

I must admit I've been thinking about is a lot of late what with the heat we've been blessed with.

Re: A/C retrofit
Exactly. But just goes to show how many parts make up the a/c system. Ideally find a Caddy with a/c at a breakers and start ripping it apart but could be complicated and time consuming!

Probably just be cheaper and far easier swapping the van for another one with A/C

Haha i'd say all of us that are sweating have considered it over the past few weeks, not really worth it given the frequency of a heatwave but my god it would be nice. The dash would have to come out for the heater box but the engine doesnt have to come out.

That looks like a lot of hardwork, I'd much rather do the window down.

Re: A/C retrofit
Was also looking at retrofitting one, luckily i grabbed a Caddy with it already fitted. Seems quite expensive and hard to do :s
