2012 lights

Post by agh321 »

ive got an orange light the shape of a bulb on the instrument display

it says in the book that it is a warning light to say that theres an external bulb gone
just checked the van and all lights and indicators nu plate lights are ok
should this light be on all the time eg to say daytime runing lights are on
or is there a problem

yep, it's a bulb out warning.
Have you fitted any led bulbs, as sometimes they trigger the warning, as they draw such low current

I've got this light on my dash, it comes on when I start the engine, then when I turn the lights on for about 10 seconds the light goes out and no bulbs are out?
Anyone got any ideas about it?

Probably o/s/r brake bulb....the holder corrodes. So it may be working but reading low so trips system. Mine did that and I thought it was normal to see the bulb out lamp on start.....when it did blow and I swapped it...cleaned up the contacts....and it went...very common I'm told.
Rear ended and killed  1.9 TDi DSG indian blue wrapped in slightly darker blue lol, now replaced with a new Highline 1.6 TDi DSG bit naked without the logos yet - rather fun but not quite my Audi S4, but makes me smile as much as my 2.6e 80 Cabriolet!!
