On etka there are 2 rear bumper crash bars listed, one is standard the other is for tow bars. Does anyone know the difference? The tow bar version looks like it sticks out less. How does it mount to the van? The standard one has metal feet that then bolt to the van but the tow bar version doesn't appear to have these. I need some clearance for my custom rear bumper and instead of hacking about the standard one, this bumper bar could be the solution.

Re: Difference between rear bumper crash bars?
Doesn't the bumper bar for the towbar mount onto the towbar frame, thus bringing it out the same distance??

I've got a detachable tow bar on mine I'll lay under mine and see what I can see for you.

I'd say as Doc, remove part 5, Bolt on towbar, and mount part 6.
My witter towbar was slightly different, in that it doubled as a crash bar, the vw crash bar (5) is thrown out

I've ordered one with the thinking its easier to adapt or build something using it. I only need to find a couple of cm of extra clearance.

Surely a company like reflex would fabricate you a new one that sits further back?

They probably can but I was trying to get as much custom work done myself so I could say I did it and to keep costs down. It may come to me just handing it over if I get stuck!
