I've no idea mate. Mine is a 1.6 and it fits fine. Just need to buy another 2 fixing ball points. Part No.s are listed in this thread previously.

Thanks Si but mines a 1.6 i did manage to get a 1.6 engine cover last night on Ebay so happy days.

Did the cover come with some accesories? Screws, joints, etc. - or it simply pops on?

I just wonder if a cover helps to protect the injectors on CR engines from damp etc ?

I am new here and must say a great site for info. I have just bought a 1.6 TDI 2014 Caddy and noticed the engine cover missing. I was sure it had been removed ?... Oops ... I owe someone an apology !
I got one off a Golf 1.6 TDI from Motor Salvage Ireland in Enniscorthy. It's only when I received it did I notice the two front ball stems missing also. The back ones were in place. They kindly sent me two. Can't praise these guys enough ... really helpful !!

Wanted to clean my engine bay up - Sorry if this is a stupid question - is there any other benefit to having an engine cover ?
or is this a visual thing?
Also is steam cleaning recommended for cleaning under bonnet?

Hi Mate, having an engine cover can help with noise levels, but I think the main benefit, other than tidying up the bay is it can help stop water getting down around the injectors. On the 1.6tdi the injectors can fail due to breakdown of the insulation on the electrical connections I believe. Where are you getting the VW parts ? Direct from a VW dealer or online?
