Tbh ive never actually come across a caddy 2k thats got issues. They a lot like Touran's as ive got both and they pretty reliable. Only issue ive had was the dpf filter on my Touran and that was it.

One thing to look out for - Make sure there's no ABS/Taction control lights on the dash. This could mean the ABS module is knackered which isn't cheap to repair.

Forgot to mention my touran needed an abs pump. They close to £1k!

VW are replacing the mk60 pump for free regardless of age. Its a safety thing.

VCDS scan is best. It will confirm the fault also.

Check the cambelt and water pump has been changed if milage is above 80k,and like alot of vw vans the electrics can be hit and miss.as long as everything works as it should, you should be ok.

You know the funny thing is that the abs light is on in the Touran but its had a new clutch fitted 1month ago along side a cambelt kit and water pump. Ive had the rear light bulb light come on and then had a warning light display a message. Ive read that a blown tail light can cause electrical problems?!? How true is that. After changing the bulb all was ok for 2 weeks then it happened again, ive ignored it for a while and the issue dissapeared. How bizare

Most random problems occure from water or damp in the electrical system so maybe after a while it dryed out and jobs a good one.T5's and Caddy's (more T5's from what I've seen) suffer from water building up (for several reasons, leaks or jet washing the load bed etc)in the cab and foot well which eventually interferes or rots wires and connectors.wherever water comes into the van it settles in the cab somewhere.
