A battery drain. Go somewhere that doesn't employ retards who will check for a drain

Also what did they test? Standing voltage? Ignition voltage? Cranking voltage? Running voltage?

Wouldn't trust Halfords to put peddles on my bike - let alone work on my vehicle. Decent Autospark should sort that for you.

My battery recently did this - Junk Halfords battery put in by the previous owner, now upgraded to a Bosch S5 and starts like a dream every morning

I think it something to do with the radio , I have checked the wiring and it seems that there is something running all the time but I have tried to re wire it but it still seems to have the same problem. I have tried to find someone who can check this but every garage I have called wants to charge me £50-75 just to start with , and it's not worth it, any suggestions.

Where has the switched ignition feed been taken from?
Does the radio turn on and off with the ignition?

The radio seems to be able to be turned on and off without the ignition on, I normally turn the stereo off manually, but there is a clock which seems to remain on all the time , and I was wondering if this could be the drain

Seems to??
Let me rephrase my question. When you have your van running and your radio pumping and you turn the van off and remove the keys, what does the radio do?
Without you touching it in any way?

That's your problem!!
You need to pick up an ignition switched supply for the radio. Best place is the fuse box.
