HELP OIL OVER MAX - VAG SUSPECT FUEL CONTAMINATION

Post by Mack Caddy »

Guys I need some urgent advice

has anyone had a problem like this

caddy is running fine, just been in as the service light was on , having been set to 1 year not 2 , so VAG reset , but advise that my oil is over the recommended level and they think its contaminated with fuel

the vans done 1250 miles since the oil was changed by VAG (12 months ago)

vans mileage is 88k

there is a slight weep of oil at the tandem fuel pump , could this be the problem ?

or is it as suggested internal seals failing ?

they say that I need to have an oil change than monitor it and then strip engine to rectify the fault if it persists - anything from £250 to a new engine :( :(

all info appreciated as I don't even want to drive it and make it worse
it's all new with the 2K :)

Well I would certainly get a sample of oil analyzed before you allow the garage to do anything, That will tell you if there is diesel in the fuel. Although you might even be able to smell it in the oil when they take the sample??

And if it was my van I don't think I would be driving it either. U could drain the oil once the sample has been taken and refill with fresh oil but I feel that's a waste of time and money.
As regards to next step I would wait until you get the results.

Rear ended and killed  1.9 TDi DSG indian blue wrapped in slightly darker blue lol, now replaced with a new Highline 1.6 TDi DSG bit naked without the logos yet - rather fun but not quite my Audi S4, but makes me smile as much as my 2.6e 80 Cabriolet!!

I've now experienced this today - loads of smoke and the engine accelerating itself.

Took it to JC Vehicle Services in Torbay who drained 9 litres of oil/diesel from the engine - there should only be 4 litres :?

He's changed the oil today, but is booked in for a few weeks time when he's next free for a full investigation.

To say i'm gutted is an understatement :( I'm more or less stuck without transport until May, as I sold my old but perfectly working Caddy 5 days ago

Has anyone else experienced this?

It could be the injector seals or it could be the head worn where the injectors sit

Anyone know of any reputable VW garages in Torbay area?

Dont want to use JustVanz, and is already booked in at JC Vehicle services but the soonest he could get me in is 13th May!

Want to take it to someone who knows what theyre doing with it and has worked with these engines before.

For info, after replacing number 2 injector and seals, and also number one injector seal, also injector loom, all problems were sorted.
