Time for the brand new caddy to go!

When I first spoke to Alex at VW Bristol about the Caddy Maxi I asked the usual questions about buying a van. Including the list of options I could have. And as meny of you will know, I did go a little mad with the options!
But one of the most important options I wanted was the added benafit of the fuel computer that comes with the trip computer pack.

Alex told be that the trip computer pack did not come with a fuel computer, so after being a little pis*ed off after seeing my friends golf that had it, I decided to put this out of my mind.

Now I did want a black van to start with, but it got sold before I got my order in and due to my tight time limits on getting a new van, I was told there was a silver one sat outside the factory with the apperance and electric pack on it.
So I went for that one.

After VW Bristol lost the van for over 3 weeks I got to collect it on the 31st Dec 2008.
Well now the van has gone back to VW to have all the bodykit removed and refitted and a few other things corrected, I have now found out that the trip computer pack "does" come with the fuel computer! REALLY REALLY not happy at all now.
Different salesman at VW Bristol, John, is now dealing with the problems and is looking into the trip computer pack to add on but as its a factory order only pack, they cant do it for the option price of £110, as it involves new clocks and new stalks.
Had I had not been given incorrect information by Alex, I would of gladly waited a extra few weeks for a complete factory built Caddy Maxi with, as I see it, the most important extra for me, the fuel computer. Due to the massive amount of miles that I am going to do, I would like to keep a eye on the mpg etc.

So after rattling on for ages, I have told VW Bristol to start the paperwork on returning the van due to being mis-sold it in the first place, either that or they will have to fit the trip computer pack for the option price of £110.
That looks unlikly, so I think its time to send the van packing!

Sorry to hear that bddy,
Sounds like the sales man has made a rite mess of the sale and I guess, your confidence in VW also, Shame on him!
Hope you can get all sorted and get yourself a Black Maxi with all the extras your after and a good price.
Some of these so called expert sales men are little more than monkies in suits. When I asked about "sports" parts for my car (Mazda 3 TD) I was told that they wouldn't work as the Diesel had a different suspension set-up to the petrol, Complete and utter B.S.
I'd say anyone who has read the relativly few topics on here about the Caddy would know more than some of these guys who are trying to sell them!
Anyway, best of luck with it, Hope to see the new and improved Caddy soon!

Thats a right pain in the arse! Over here in Ireland to get the trip computer you have to order the cruise control as its all one package. Honestly these bloody salesmen would tell you anything, the majority are not fully aware of all spec, options etc. I dont know how many of them ive caught out with miss-leading info.

When you fork out that money to them you would think they should give ya what you want. Some thing simular but a lot smaller was the temp gauge in the caddy, asked the sales man about it and every time it was a case of i will look into it for ya. Its not that hard to find out that kind of thing

I may of got somewhere today with the situation?

Today I had to go and see the dealer owner as I have just found out that the sales manager has been lieing to me.

He has been telling me from when I picked up the vehicle, that a different companys bodyshop fitted all the sportline parts and it was them who fitted everything badly.
Now after speaking to this bodyshop directly today, I found out that the first time this bodyshop saw my Caddy was last week when it went in to have the work corrected?

So VW sales manager has been blaming this poor bodyshop for messing the whole sportline kit up and they had nothing to do with it?

So Dealer owner is now getting involved and turns out that he already knows whats going on, but of course, only been told what the sales manager wanted him to know!

So tommorow the dealer owner will be phoning me to let me know whats going on.

All I know is at the front bumper is being replaced for another brand new one and its also having its thrid front sportline spoiler.

And to top it off, I have worked out that VW Bristol have now put a extra 200 miles on my brand new van, thats more than I have done in the few weeks I have had it!!!

VERY VERY PIS*ED OFF.

IF THEY DONT FIT THE FUEL / TRIP COMPUTER FOR FREE FOR COMPASATION I AM RETURNING THE VAN TO VW FINANCE!!!

Well, the Caddy is now staying!

Had a phone call from the owner of VW Bristol today and they have been in talks with VW head office to see weather or not they can add on the "factory fit" trip computer pack without VW voiding my warrenty on the clocks, stalk and ECU.
And they are bending the rules this once and going ahead with it.
And the front bumper has been completly replaced with a brand new one along with the sportline front spoiler. Both have been painted together and aparently are a perfect match with the vans paintwork!

So Van should be ready on either Friday or Monday with the EVERYTHING sorted out and a new set of clocks with the fuel computer and stalk.

I have my fingers crossed on both hands hoping that everything is finally fixed so I can start enjoing my new Van!!!! :!: :!:

Its finally booked in for the clock conversion.
Its going in this Wednesday and they want it for two days?
I thought this would only take a few hours but never mind.

But as a bonus, the stalks are one piece on the newer caddys, so i get cruise control chucked in as well.

I will post up some pictures when its back for you all to see!

MORE COCK UPS FROM VW BRISTOL!!!!!!!

Phoned them twice today to find out what time I can have my caddy back, only to be fobbed off twice with the usual "we will phone you later!!"

5PM comes and they phoned me to let me know that they have been on the phone to VW Germany cause they have a steering sensor error which is putting the light on the dash, and I cant have it back until they have fixed it!
They think by ordering yet another steering angle sensor it will then work?

I keep telling them to get VAGCOM!!

VW Bristols machine cant clear the fault code, so I know think that there is not much hope for this company!

I await a phone call in the morning when the new part comes in! thats if it does?
