Re: bls engine
Lots of people have these engines and have no problems that have done a lot more miles than yours. It is a case of looking after it regular servicing and hopefully it will be fine.

Re: bls engine
Please don't add to the bad press these engines get. Think of the quantity that were made and how few actually fail.
Look after your own, keep it services and don't abuse it and I will be fine.
There are 8500 members on here, let's say 1/3rd of them have the BLS engine. I've heard of 3 that have failed in all my time running the forum.
That's 1 in 945
I like those odds.

Re: bls engine
With doc on this one
Mines done 170 mapped and Gos like a train
The main horror is Google search
As people only talk of the bad stuff and that's what Google finds
The main cause of failure is incorrect oil and lack of servicing but that would Ruin any engine
Make sure u use pd specific oils

Re: bls engine
Yeh think you are right guys don't no why I panicked really searched for ages for an audi for the missis looked at worse engines etc and got an engine that was meant to be a bullet proof code but had endless troubles with it long as you look after it that's all you can do. I must say love my caddy had a t4 before but they are a pain to park it narrow car parks this is ten times better

that's reassuring to know. If you don't mind me asking what grade oil did you use and was it from the dealer?alarmfitter wrote:I sold my caddy dsg with bls engine and it had 253000 mile on and it's still going strong
