Caddy tdi crank shaft sensor replaced but still won't start

So my 06 tdi (barn door) caddy was in limp mode with the glow plug light on, engine oil light on and with no rev counter..... It was also getting harder and harder to get it started & in jan keep it running when started from cold - So I left her parked until I had time...

I had the fault codes read on sat & it said faulty crank sensor - which made sense on the failure to start and rev counter issue!!

So I've replaced the sensor - which was a serious pain & the glow plugs & now my caddy still won't start, and I if I get it started with a little easy start - I still have no rev counter, glow plug light is still on & engine oil light

WTF people - help

Check cam timing hasn't jumped a tooth.
Just had this with one at work....
Said cam sensor no reading, but was just out of sink with crank timing....

Agree. Could have stripped a few teeth off the belt and put the timing out. Seen that before. No more easy start until you've checked it!

Crank sensor will show faults even if there good. This happens when the engine is cranked over many times without starting

I had this problem, changed the sensor and it was still the same. So took it back to my geezer and he looked at the wiring and found that it was not the best, so he fixed the wiring going to the crank shaft sensor and she hasn't been a problem since. So i would say just check the wiring as well (unlike what i did) and if not, what the others said as well dude.

Try checking the wiring loom between the engine and chassis leg there pron to braking wires there.
