Sliding door mechanism. Can this be replaced/serviced

Post by ryancaddy » Wed Apr 15, 2015 10:23 pm

Hi I've noticed my sliding door isn't working as it used to and seems to be catching and rubbing the metal at the bottom when closing and opening the door. Can I fix/ replace anything to sort this problem out. Any help would be much appreciated thanks :)

Yes you will find it just needs the bottom door runner replaced as the plastic bearings usually go. You can buy them I believe but the arm is only a few quid and a quick job to swap over, even doing it yourself, I have swapped a few and makes a big difference, find them on ebay
cheers

As I can't access the more technical areas of the forum yet, I wonder what's the proper maintenance
for a working door? What kind of grease and applied where? I don't have the manual...
