New volkswagen paint
Anyone else think the paint on the new vans is somewhat rubbish? I've had my 2014 nearly a month and the bonnet and bumper are getting resprayed already due to stonechips! My last 09 van I had for 5 years and there was only a handful in that time. Anyone else get a large number of stonechips? I don't drive up tight behind cars in front either

Re: New volkswagen paint
It's water based paint's fault. All cars these days have dreadful paint. My mums got a black 2013 Golf with only 6k on the clock and its stone chipped and swirled. If you leave bird crap on it for even a second it burns through.

It's brutal looking almost like someone's hit it with a shot blaster. After the respray it'll be going up for sale. I presume it would have to be resprayed with water based for colour matching etc?

Ive just reluctantly sold a 1996 Peugeot 306 that had less chips on the bonnet than my 13 plate that ive had for 8 months
