Should I get the EGR blanked at the same time as the remap? A mate said I should as it will help it run more efficiently! I don't understand why they put this EGR thing in to start with if taking it out makes it more efficient! Or have I missed something! My tech knowledge is obviously not good so some advice would be good.

EGR reduces emissions from diesel engines by warming up the inlet air to get the engine up to temperature quicker. However, it is in the airflow and can fail if the valves jam with contamination.

Make sure you haven't got a diesel particle filter on your exhaust as I am told if you remove the EGR it can clog up the DPF quickly, which is not a road anyone should go down
If you have a DPF, sort that out the same time as the EGR delete
