after reading the mpg thread starting to think theres something wrong with my caddy as only getting 300 to a full tank with mixed driving, but even with harsh driving all the time i would have thought thats bad the van is a 1.9 tdi mapped to 140ish lowered on 19 totally empty was told when a bought it that its got a bad remap could this be the main cause? it has got 127k on was thinking about getting it terracleaned seems im putting diesel in far to often and i dont even use it for work.. thoughts?

Could be a mixture of dodgy remap and oversize wheels.. I'm getting 43 mpg on my bls 1.9tdi and that's mixed driving..

I can get 670 to a tank since going 6 speed. That's on 18's with standard map.

Check for running restrictions like dodgy wheel bearings or noisy gearbox. Back boxes can fail and drop down, blocking the pipe and leaving it very hard to breathe.

First port of call for me would be a remap, Followed by a good service with all new filters. Then as others have said check for bad wheel bearings even tracking etc.
Mine 1.9bls does anywhere between 45-50mpg with 6 speed conversion but with 16" alloys so yes yours is very poor.

Also check for leaking or damage on the fuel cooler and return lines, you might be tipping diesel out on the road and not noticing.

I would go get the map checked with some live data runs on a rolling road, as if you haven't had it mapped you don't know what map is really on there, also check tyre pressures, I was running 34psi on 225-40-18 tyres and getting 480 miles from full to fuel light, pumped them up to 38psi as per book for unladen caddy and I'm seeing 58/59 mpg on a run, that's on a 2009 caddy maxi life 1.9 tdi mapped to 152 bhp
