What are the swb caddy's like to sleep in?
I am thinking of getting one to replace my transit connect to haul mountain bikes about and sleep in at races, but that is a lwb and is only just long enough, is there the possibility of removing the bulkhead and moving the front seats forwards in the caddy? as this is not possible in the connect.
I'm around 6'2"/6'3" if it helps.

Hi,
Why not just go for the maxi and enjoy the extra space that it will bring.

Bulkhead is easy to remove and then push the seats all the way forward. Reckon you'd have enough room. There's a company that offer swivel seat conversions for the Caddy so it turns round to face the back. You could then design a bed around using the passenger seat as the headboard.

plenty of room with the bulkhead removed and front seats pushed forward, I turned my SWB into a camper.

I still want it to be small enough to handle like a car, as I'm thinking of getting rid of my van and car for a caddy, I am very tempted by the potential power gains

Sounds good though, might make a flap that folds down behind the passenger seat to extend sleeping room.

I use a full sized double mattress in the back of mine, fits like a glove.

I have a custom sofabed in mine. Bulkhead to rear doors is 170cm, and wheelarch to wheelarch is 113cm.

The Caddy Maxi is 2.2m (just over 7ft) from rear doors to bulkhead if it helps.

I'm 6'2" and can just manage it with the bulkhead in and all my gear piled on one side, so i'd imagine with the bulkhead removed it'd work easily.

That answers a few questions for me. I was thinking of getting two touran passenger seats as they fold flat and making them fit somehow then putting a mattress over them but no need now as im only 5ft 7", this must be the only joy of being a short ar5e

I'm in the process of building a sleeping area in the rear of my caddy . Just removed the bulk head and I had a enough room . Barley have to move the seats forward and I'm 6 ft

That conversion looks amazing did you design it yourself or follow plans, I wouldnt mind a conversion like that, well done
