Advice

Post by Juego »

Ok i'm a fussy git when it comes to cars and mileage but i'm getting desperate now for money and need a van asap to try get my business started.

I've found a Reflex Silver Caddy on EBay and the guys got back to me for a possible swap. Problem is he's asking £5850 for his 06 plate with 120k on the clock

My Fabia's only done 60k on an 05 plate and is the highest mileage car i've owned

I've always said i wouldn't touch a car/van with over 90k but not sure now what to do. What would u do? Is his caddy worth £5850?

It looks in good condition belonging to his catering company and it says it's carpeted in the back which is ideal as is what i was gonna do anyways. I just don't know what to do!

I got mine mine for £4500 with 70k on the clock, although it is an SDI and they're considerably cheeper..
120k sounds high to me, I text that carspotter text service last week or so and that said the average milage for an 05sdi was 67k, I can't see how the average milage would be so much different depending on the model, if ya get me..

The mileage thing is probably based on the average mileage for a car as it works out at just 13k per year, which is way wrong for a van. Is the one youre looking at a TDI, SDi, what options has it got etc as they all make a difference to the price. Whats your reasoning behind not buying over 90k?
Check if the flywheels been done as they can go around 90-100k.
We paid £2850 for a 55 plate SDi with no options and 90k on the clock.

So it's a bit over priced then lol as i thought

Reason why i wouldn't buy anything higher up the miles i really can't answer. Just never had a car past 50k till my Fabia

I'm not sure on options but it's a TDi as i wouldn't buy an SDi. No offence to the SDi drivers lol

lol i know the SDi will be cheaper to run etc but i'm too used to my Fabia's power so i'd have to get a TDi and map it to keep me happy

I payed just under 6 for my 06, with 90k on it just before christmas from a dealer.

I had a 2.3 straight d before this tdi and a tdi golf before that. If the sdi is anything similar it wouldnt pull the hat off your head.
I miss my old Nissan Delivery 2.3d, RWD FTW lol.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the mileage, depends on how much you value your fabia.

Personally I'd say that caddy was quite expensive.

I think it's expensive aswell. Sent him an email asking for more details and pics of my car as he requested

Try barter a bit and see where i go but the search is still continuing
