Got these seats.... now, how to get them working???
Just about to take delivery of these A5 S Line leathers. I'm assuming they're heated and obviously electric.
I'm new here and from what I can gather, Stan is the man. I'm trying to get a message to him, but in the mean time does anyone else have any info or advice to getting these babies to work.
I have a bog standard 2011 caddy maxi bm, no a/c or climate control, bog standard heater blower controls, manual everything.
I'm planning to electrify windows and mirrors aswell as seats. Also is it a straight swap to put in a rns510 head unit to replace the standard cd/radio player?
Many thanks in advance...

im in the same boat, just got some A6 Seats so will be fitting them tomorrow hopefully, looks like stan charges £100 for the looms iirc and as you are aware you will need to get a new heater controller, as for the RNS Radio it is straight swap as i have the RNS315

For the seats you have to change your heater panel and get one heated seat module. (Audi dont use module for heat so there wont be one underneath the seat like in Vw)
Regarding the panel with ac I think it should be fine as its only a wiring difference in my opinion it still uses the cables to control the knobs etc.
I can look into it later to be 100%

It wont work lads as I already spotted that the wire that in standard heater needs to be supplied power and fused in ac panel that location is taken by regulator valve.
No go lads unfortuantely

Re: Got these seats.... now, how to get them working???
Hi Stan,
Dam, was hoping to get full function from them i was looking at this control module (top 3 pics), and these heater modules (bottom 2 pics)
I take it you mean it's a no go because I don't have a/c installed and the control unit needs to have an a/c system fitted to work?
Is there no way around this at all?
And secondly is it straight forward to get the electric adjustment function part working, I'm hoping it's just a matter of suppling 12v power to it somehow. Even if it's just a ciggie lighter plug in when needed job, would that work safely?
Would be very interested in a loom if we can make them work at all!
Many thanks!

Hi stan,
just wondering if these are any different and possibly adaptable?
This ones described as a caddy control unit, (no back side pic)
this ones a scirocco unit (possibly the same as above)
same scirocco one but the back side

Re: Got these seats.... now, how to get them working???
I'm afraid the AC unit and standard unit seems to be wired differently so as far as I can see no way around it
The module you need is either 5K0 959 772 or 772A
Be careful getting just any as not all are the same. Best focus on numbers above.
I have few modules arriving in next week or so and gonna sell them with the next few looms I'll be making.
Regarding electric seats:
As long as you will ground them and provide 12v they'll work but if they are fully electric use thermal fuse per seat to take the heat from circuit.
If just lumbar control you are after one 15a fuse and 2.5mm2 wire will do.
You could use ciggie lighter as it uses proper size wire for power.

The top panel looks like proper caddy one as it doesn't have heated rear screen
The lower is AC which is no good.

If they is numbers on the temp dial its climatic or climatronic, stans right the bottom panel is for a caddy but they do also do a panel with heated rear screen and seats too, my van has a heated rear screen so not sure if I'd get away with just the panel with recirculation since my back windows are covered anyway. So how does this module connect up?
My A6 seats have 3 plugs
1brown which I believe is for the heat mats
1yellow think that's airbag
1green unsure???

Re: Got these seats.... now, how to get them working???
Caddy and transporters would be the only ones in Vw that might have the panel without rear screen heating button. You can source the correct panel from LHD car as well as the rear section of the panel for heater cables can be swapped over between LHD and RHD .
Ash normally the green or black ones would be for heating, red for electric movement but the only way to know for sure is by number of wires in the plugs.
In Audi heated seats will use 4 wires for heating per seat (one of the wires should be black/brown). Electric movement plug will have two thick wires (brown and red/green or red/white or red/yellow). Airbag plug you can ignore as if you don't have airbags in your caddy from factory retrofit is possible but will cost a lot. Small black two pin plugs are normally for seat belt warning or seat occupancy sensor but these can be also combined together with electric movement plugs or other. You can also have wiring in there for rear footwell light.

Slight mix up on my behalf it's the green plug for the heaters and black plug for the belt warning, so Stan, can you get these to work with the caddy?
