That's what I thought so I removed the bottom latch when I got to work and refitted but no change I assumed the door sensor was in the bottom latch

Re: van thinks back doors are open all the time
my bottom latch had a little bit of water pooled in it and that caused an 'always open' issue

Re: van thinks back doors are open all the time
I think it was just coincidental. Like I loaded some wet gear into the boot or something
Glad you've made some progress!

I’m having this problem, did drying it out solve all the problems?
Thanks

Re: van thinks back doors are open all the time
Common issue for years in caddy. Trouble is that the loom plugs in to bottom latch down to it and the water travels down to the plug.
I got mine replaced under warranty as it was already badly corroded by the time I took it off to dry it.
Came up with this solution for it

I got the opposite issue, mine doesn’t know it’s opened so get no rear interior light when open and locks itself when I only go in the back after unlocking

So is it a case of replacing the whole bottom latch?
