EGR problems

Post by boloclips »

im having problems with my egr valve and wondered if anyone could help. Its a 104bhp 05 plate and ive changed the turbo for a 150bhp golf gt tdi one and got rid of the cat, almost a straight forward swap apart from the exhaust downpipe flange and the EGR pipe fixing point.

As the old egr pipe from the turbo to the egr valve didnt fit i thought id blank the egr pipe off (both sides)

now after road testing it, it keeps going into limp mode and the engine management comes on intermittently.

have i missed something?
do i need to plug the vacuum pipe?
do i need to get the egr deleted off the ecu?

any help would be most appreciated

Think you'll need to get the EGR and cat mapped out to avoid any lights.

Yeh deffo get the EGR Mapped out, but you won't get any warning lights or problems with a de cat however i would ensure the de cat is taken into account with the mapping just to be safe
