2018 Caddy

Post by Kreutz »

Seem to recall specs for upcoming model year caddy being released in February last couple years, and I'm really curious if anyone heard or read anything about Caddy getting any updates for the 2018 model year? Would love to see some features from the Transporter in the Caddy, mainly LED headlights and power sliding doors.

No, isn't it bi-xenon with LED DRLs? I have it on mine as well and I've seen my buddy's new Transporter with the LED and they are much brighter and whiter.

Highly unlikely power sliding doors but possibly led headlights which are super sexy

They need to do a sportline caddy! They never spec them like a transporter!

Really curious if they'll ever fix the AC / nav position. The current one makes no sense!
My first Caddy is on it's way and dealer claims it'll be MY18 already. I've already spotted one difference for 2018 - MFD Premium is finally available (and series for Highline)!

Yep 25w bi xenon, which means no need for self levelling, which I'm not surprised at as mine bounces around like an 80's cavalier having a fit on some B roads. I fact it's bottomed out so much the mud flaps have hit the ground!

MY18 isn't in the production yet. It's starting on week 26 or so. When I placed the order about three weeks ago, there were no info yet what will be the changes for MY18. But my dealer confirmed that since my car will be in production later, it will automaticallz contain the premium MFD (it's Highline) despite it wasn't known when ordering.

And yes, MFD Premium is slowly making it's way to configurators and price lists around the world know. In some regions the online price lists are not updated yet but it should be visible in configurator.

Sure, I'd love to see LED rear lights too (and a full-LED front as well of course :) ) but doesn't seem it's happening with MY18 :(

I don't really get it why is Caddy so behind in some tech which is pretty common for other cars (no line assist, no blind spot assist, no LED lights, not talking about dynamic LEDs). It's kinda weird since VW presents Caddy also as a personal family vehicle (which will be my case).
And also the stupid positioning of the nav...

Hate to bring up this thread without any positive news, since I've heard none for model year 2019, but it really feels like all competitors are catching up and starting to pass the Caddy in technical advancements, infotainment, etc. Test drove the new Sprinter (yeah I know, not the same segment) the other week and it had everything one wishes the Caddy would've had already, LED all around, blind spot warning, lane assist, 360 camera ( !!). Ford Connect have some neat new design features, and now I'm reading about the new Partner, not that I'd ever get one, but it has keyless entry and go, electric parking brake, 180-degree parking camera, lindspot monitors, lane assist, overload alert, etc. Can we expect anything fancy from VW for the upcoming Caddy?
