Mine is in for injector replacement (only done 33 000kms!) and has had the recall done.

Scary now hearing about EGR valve failures after recall mods......

Curious; in the UK, after doing recall is VW giving you £500 credit? (That's what I heard). Here in France, it's zero......

That's just to give you a bit of protection from the rain as they know the EGR or another injector may fail ImageImage

I had VW fix there emissions on my Caddy, and I used to get about 550 miles in a full tank, I now struggle to get 500.
I also had my EGR fail about a week later. I just put this down to an age related thing as I thought the valves have a life expectancy.

Just bought my 14 plate 1.6 tdi caddy and it has had the recall done and apparently to lower emissions level they make it run a little richer (which lowers mpg), its only a slight amount, you will lose about 1hp in power too which most would not even notice, however running richer will also have an impact on engine overtime getting clogged up which may explain egr/ dpf issues people have???

My van has taken a huge drop in mpg since the recall. I'm seeking legal advice this week, the dealer also damaged my van while it was with them. It's not legal and does not affect warranty so don't be scare mongered into having it done. I was and now stuck with an under performing damaged van

There are many remapping companies offering a reversal of "the fix".
Some properly flash the ECU SW back to a pre "fix" state, others just apply their version of remap on top of the new SW.

Who would you take it to, Doc?

I'm quite near Quantum (stevenage) and I believe they're decent?

It's not something I've ever considered or looked into so I can't really advise who would reverse it properly.

No worries.....I suppose it's a gamble anyway...

I just want to know what it's like without the 'fix'......I bought it already done, and I'm sure it would be better without it, mpg, torque etc...
