Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about turning my caddy into a microcamper. Might be closing off the one sliding door for that. BUT, are there any ways to open the tailgate from the inside?
Thanks

could probably buy an interior handle kit from Vw. Available for barn door so I'd assume tailgate also.

As above you can buy the parts for the barn door vans so I'd imagine the same for the tailgate models. Alternatively I'd imagine the T5's interior tailgate handle and mechanism could be adapted

Not a perfect solution, but I've got a cable and loop down to the lock mechanism so i can bail out if needed. It routes up, through the door and emerges into a hole in the pull strap. It works with the door locked too. I'm looking for a better solution as I'm putting a camping pod in the back of mine too.

Nice! As long as I can get out, I'm happy ;-). Want to put some insulation in the back of the van, so would be nice to open the tailgate.K100HFC wrote:Not a perfect solution, but I've got a cable and loop down to the lock mechanism so i can bail out if needed.
