clutch pedals got me head done in!!!
after getting a new clutch it to find it was the master cylinder I can never get it working properly its got my head battered its had a new master and new slave bled with eazibleed and still no luck, also new oring and rubber top hat on end of pipe that meets the slave as it was leaking from there seems like the pedal is to low with no air in the pipe ? it seems to pull away from the van at the top of the whole pdeal mechanism therefor not giving much travel till it hits the floor does it have a bolt at the top and two at the bottom any ideas might treat it to a dash of petrol overnight

Re: clutch pedals got me head done in!!!
I've always found you only get a good pedal if you use vcds to cycle the abs pump whilst bleeding. Not sure if you have some this already, but definitely worth doing in my experience.

Re: clutch pedals got me head done in!!!
Try clamping the flexi pipe to the slave. The clutch pedal should go hard like the brake pedal. Then remove the slave cyl a try to force back that too should be solid with flexi clamped. If both of those are ok then would look like fault with release bearing or arm as have had them bend on me tome to time. Hope it helps

+1 on possible bent clutch fork.
Definitely do as suggested with a clamp on the flexi part of the pipe.
If there's no air and you get the solid pedal when clamped and solid slave when clamped then there is no reason to suggest the master or slave have any faults.
However, a bent clutch fork won't reach quite far enough to disengage properly.
Mine is very near the floor as well but releases fully so I'm not concerned.
Try the above to illiminate the cylinders then you know it has to be inside the bell housing that's the problem somewhere

Re: clutch pedals got me head done in!!!
Does sound like air in system too if it's starting point is lower than brake pedal.
They are a pig to bleed, and resevoir needs to be kept fully topped up during bleed process it grabs air very close to top.
I undid my bleed screw and lifted the pedal right up and just let gravity bleed it slowly. I stayed by the reservoir pouring fluid in to keep it brimmed.
Ran nearly a litre through and nipped it up.
Seriously picky to bleed at times

Re: clutch pedals got me head done in!!!
Just re read your initial post.
The clutch mechanism around the pedal inside the van should not move!
It should be solidly bolted to firewall.
If it's moving it's loose and needs tightened.
Time to go upside down in your drivers seat to investigate.
