Re: Rear seat conversion
I've done rear seats mate. I told the Dvla and they just asked for pictures. Insurance is through Adrian flux and works out a touch cheaper for me as it's now classed as modified car and not commercial van insurance. So I can use my car no claims.

Thanks for your reply, How did you inform dvla did you have to send v5 off or did you just write a letter and send pics.

Sent the logbook off after filling in the amendment section, then they got back to me asking for pics.

Interesting, did they re register it as M1 instead of N1 as well?

Re: Rear seat conversion
Also interested as to the reclassification. Sent the V5 off to report change of number of seats. Assumed it would always remain 'a van' (ex BG Maxi), just with five seats on the log.
Owner of a smashing blue ex-BG Caddy Maxi.

Re: Rear seat conversion
The DVLA VED check now shows vehicle class, I used it yesterday to check my new Caddy Life has been registered as M1: https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Rear seat conversion
Is there any requirement to fit side windows when re classification from van to car/people carrier?
Thanks
