2.0 TDI tuning for 16 plate

Post by MxNorth »

Hello all,

I'm picking up my caddy on Saturday and it is the 2.0 TDI Euro 6 engine (a dismal 75ps) but it was about £1.5-2k cheaper, from a VW dealer about 150miles away.

Im asking your advice on the best tuning options for it and whether there is anyone local to Weybridge in Surrey you can recommend. It's going to be my work van so I don't need it to be 180bhp but I do want it faster than it is whilst holding some economical value.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

I'd prefer a remap, and yeah it'll have 2 years left on the warranty.

Personally, I wouldn't touch a remap for a van that is still in warranty.

I'm booked in to T H Performance in Portsmouth next week, they're Pendle agents and do a live remap on dyno. Still got two years of warranty on mine, held out for a year but something is missing with performance so bitting the bullet and doing it. I've got the 2.0 150bhp model.
Caddy 4 150 DSG Viper Green, AirLift Performance, Alltrack Body Kit, 19" SPF Rotiforms & 20" Vossen CVT, 5 seat conversion, full interior re-trim in Napa & Alcantara with green stitching and a sprinkling of Custom Car Audio.

Are the tuning boxes any good? From what I hear they just aren't that great. Anybody running one?

Having just gone from 2.0 102 to a 2.0 150 DSG I'm interested to hear what you think post remap.

Will let you know Aikon on how it goes, I had the 140dsg before and thought it was much better engine, been disappointed with the 150.

I Concur, my wife has a pre blue motion 140 manual and although the stated torque is lower than my 150 it delivers it better and across a wider rev range, I've not taken it for recall as I don't want them to ruin it!
I'm lucky enough to have Jabbasport nearby so if I decide to tweak the Caddy I'll see what they can do, they did my A2 and it was exceptional.

I have recently changed from a 140 cr to a 2017 150 both manual and i think that there is not much between them,150 pulls a bit better and is doing 49 mpg over first 2500 miles. pendle claim remap to 190 bhp.
