Hi, welcome to the forum.
The world is your Oyster when it comes to brake upgrades, you can go for golf GTI setup (312mm) , Golf R33 (345mm), multiple Porsche setups up to 390mm, Alcon, Brembo, Stop-tech, etc. etc.
It all depends how much of a upgrade you desire.
FYI, the GTI 312mm setup might not even be a upgrade, you might possibly already have this size as it was standard on some specification of caddy.

312mm is a fairly common upgrade. (well was on the Mk4 platform)

TT/GTI versions can be found fairly cheap.

I run them on my Leon TDI track car :D

Just don't forget, anything bigger will normally mean change in wheels

I am also interested in a brake upgrade,as my 2012 1.6 tdi 75ps has in my opinion, poor brakes as the engine has been remapped to 140.

What would be the best and most economic upgrade?

I would like to buy parts that will go straight on that I can give to my mechanic and say to him to just replace.

Any ideas ?

These require a minimum 16" wheel so that may be a wheel upgrade as well, standard wheels are 15" unless you already have 312 disc as some 2.0 vans do
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

345mm r32 brakes made a big difference on mine.
310mm vented rear upgrade are next on the list.

Best advice I can give is wait until you get your full forum permissions so you can view the brakes section. Everything being asked here is covered in full. You'll get plenty of ideas and inspiration from there.

You can also find a fair bit of great info in the members gallery from people who have done brake upgrades (myself included) so it's worth setting aside a spare few days and going through it all :)

Will do mate thank you! I need new discs and pads on the back but I was thinking why buy replacements when I would like to replace the whole thing?
