Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
Thanks mate
Was hoping for that answer haha! Main reason I ask is my van has only done 8800 miles, wasn't sure if I should 'bed' it in a bit more or not!

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
If it is still under warranty could remapping it cause any claim issues should you have say an EGR or injector problem?

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
I got mine done at 7000 miles and no issues to report apart from bald front tires at 10,000!! As far as warranty goes it's does void it, you will have to take it on the chin if it goes wrong.
But don't be worried because these new 2.0tdi-cr are well able for the extra power.

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
Sounds like you have super torque to your front tyres hehe, I'm prepared to risk my warranty, I've already added a new magic tree so it's probably already void (you know what they are like haha!) - they will certainly not approve a lot of other stuff thats going to be happening in the next few weeks anyway.DJOHALL wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2017 9:51 pm I got mine done at 7000 miles and no issues to report apart from bald front tires at 10,000!! Thanks for the info mate - who did your map and what are your power gains like?

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
I can recommend Pendle Performane at Barnoldswick.
Great results on my 1.9tdi..115 bhp to 150bhp still smileing after 3000 miles

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
I got it done by Pendle, I don't know the torque figure as I'm away from the van at the min but the bhp went from 102bhp factory to 178.8bhp. I think it actually put out 111bhp on the standard map.Whitey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2017 10:23 pm Sounds like you have super torque to your front tyres hehe, I'm prepared to risk my warranty, I've already added a new magic tree so it's probably already void (you know what they are like haha!) - they will certainly not approve a lot of other stuff thats going to be happening in the next few weeks anyway.

It's epic fun to drive now, its worth it alone to see the look on people's faces when this van just takes off from them

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
remap is a must for these engines, i run the 1.6 102 mapped to 145BHP and miss the 1,9/2,0tdi torque everyday. always down shifting in the 1.6

Sorry for the slight hijack.
Just thought it saved a new thread!
If I got an ex british gas van with a speed limiter in the ECU. Would a remap remove this? Or would it need to be done separately?

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
British Gas used caddys since 2006 and in that time they have had at least 3 different speed limiters fitted.
If yours is in the ECU and your remapper knows how, then yes a remap will allow you to have it removed.
If your limiter is the add-on box type, hardwired to your accelerator pedal, then a remap will not remove this.

I got my 11 plate ex British gas remapped and speed limiter removed (on the ecu) at the same time.

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
A remap will remove it and also you can with vagcom. You can't remove it but you can raise out of the vans capabilities. So depends on if you want the extra power or not.chrisdw2110 wrote:Sorry for the slight hijack.

Re: Too Soon.... Remap?
Thanks for your reply.
If I was putting it in for the limter to be removed/adjusted, I would probably get it all done at the same time. I would never say no to more power
