If you get the OEM cables and sensors, you also will need cables from the bumper to the the module which you also will need and a cable to the bmc and someone who can add it to your system with vcds (coding). Works like a Golf 7 in a Caddy 4. OEM headunits will show the PDC working after installing it. There are companies which can help you out I only know them in the Netherlands. I already have PDC in the rear bumper, front I don't miss although I have had that on my previous Caddy.

If someone has a caddy 2010-2015 model it works like the Golf 6. Golf 6 parts will do the job in a caddy if it goes about the pdc in front and the back. And 2004-2010 models are like the Golf 5.

I bought my previous caddy '12 without a lot extra's, but built those in afterwards which was cheaper in fact of buying one with all options in it.

@RKDesigns

Hi mate, hope you don't mind the tag.

I've searched forum high and low and can't find any definite answers and I'm hoping you can help as you seem to know from your comment above.

I have a 2009 Maxi Kombi and want to install OEM parking sensors.

I have bought a used 2015 onwards rear bumper with 4 x original parking sensors, and a 2012 Touran Front bumper with 6 x parking sensors.

I understand the 6 x sensors are for park assist so not bothered if the extra 2 didn't work.

I believe I need the following but was hoping you could confirm

Rear bumper loom
Loom which connects to rear bumper loom and goes to module
Front bumper loom
Loom which goes from front bumper loom to module.

What I am unsure of, is what module part number I would need, and how I connect this into the vehicle system.

Is this something you could advise on?

Thanks in advance

Ben

I also have an RCD310 DAB but I want to change this to an RNS510

Kufatec in Germany sells the cables and can tell what you need as module.

4x pdc in front and 4x pdc rear, indeed the pla sensors will be workless in the bumper in your case.

I did a How 2 for Mk 4 OEM Retrofit

https://www.caddy2k.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46839

Kit from CZ is cheapest but had to be modified to work - may have changed by now ?

Next cheapest kit from UK at time of writing ... also do mobile fitting service.

I ordered the rear kit from the place you have linked from Czech.
If I'm being honest I found the loom very heath Robinson.
I'm sure the factory loom is shielded by a 6/8mm plastic flexi conduit.
The position of the sensors showed that the loom plugs seem to short.
If you do order from them bare in mind you will get hit with import duties that they failed to tell me at checkout.
Knowing what I know now I would have paid the extra and ordered the parts from LLL parts.

Cars-equipment sent me cheap knock-off puddle lights once, they did of course advertise genuine OEM ones on their website, so I like to avoid them now. I find these guys excellent https://www.carsystems.eu/vw-caddy-sa-p ... s,tag.html. I didn't have any issues with looms not fitting but if ordering outside of Europe there may be import duties.

Do you need to
Code in rear sensors with VCDS if they’ve not be installed before or would they work straight out the box ?

Thanks in Advance

Thanks guys for all your input. Some helpful info and references for me to look at.

@RKDesigns

I spoke with Kufatec, who have asked me what module I have, which is what I could do with some advise on, as I haven't a clue which one would be OK for my van.

They've also asked me what are the part numbers of front and rear sensors, which are in the plant shop but hoping to have them back over the next few days.

@petrev

Very good write up and I'm sure will be very helpful for me, thank you.

I had seen it, but wa sunsure if it would be the same for my van with it being a Mk3 Pre Facelift.
