Help please! Removing double sided tape?
So I took off my rubbing strips to be painted but getting the remainder of the old double sided tape used to stick them on with is becoming a nightmare.
I have tried using the hairdryer to heat it up , hot water, windowleen even meths and nothing's making it any easier.
Have you guys got any tips please?

A "Caramel wheel" in a cordless drill is what you need, and some tar and glue remover for any remaining residue.

Try isopropyl alcohol or acetone, cellulose thinners is not so good
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

When it's really sticky, and nothing else works, you need a can of Multisolve.

If you use a brand new caramel wheel be very careful as its easy to burn the paint.

I wouldn't recommend a caramel wheel unless you want to repaint your panels. It's a horrible job but you just have to keep applying chemicals (I use degreaser or thinners) and rubbing your finger prints off.

I've always used a caramel wheel. Works wonders.... takes a couple of mins. Is it bad for the paintwork?

Only if you run it too fast, and/or hold it on until it burns the paint
