MK7 Gti Bumper - Foglights Coding

Post by ed1119 »

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of fitting the Mk7 GTI hybrid bumper to my 2014 Highline and have connected the LED fog lights, but they don't light up :(
Power is getting to the fog lights I just added connectors onto the original loom (and the dash is showing bulb out).

Do I need these coded as they are now LED lamps?
@Doc have you had to code these in before to a facelift Caddy that originally had fog lights?

thanks for any help

I've not had the opportunity but it is possible. The BCM has the possibility to be coded for LEDs and the cold/warm diagnostics turned off.

There shouldn't be need to code them.

I fitted skoda led units to my previous Caddy (2014) and there were no faults or any coding needed. Check your wiring again if you didn't by any chance swap the wires around

Hi Ed, ive fitted LED fogs to my gti mk7 bumper. I just connected the original fog light cables to the new LED units. Lights work fine but bulb out light is lit on dash as the LED lights require far less juice. Doc is going to have a look at sorting it for me. Keep you posted buddyImage

I had my led drl's coded in my Scirocco R bumper this week so I have no dash error. They are wired to my existing fog light wires but I got him to set it so the fog lights run as drl's instead of the side lights in the headlamp.

Hello,

I have the same problem.

I have a mk8gti bumper on a caddy 4.

Fog lights where working when the bumper was of the van - now since the bumper has been painted and installed they are not working with dash error and fault code- left fog light 01496 right fog light 01500

Wondering if this could be coding related due to power difference

Thanks

Fixed! Mine was also a wiring issue, the cables had been crossed on both sides!

Still have a bulb out error if anyone knows how to code this out.

Thanks
