Fuel tank pressure?
Spent all day on it again!
Lumpy idle on warmup
While I was working on it I thought I'd check the fuel flap actually works and found quite a bit of pressure buildup in the tank, it was running low so I filled up to around half a tank.
It seems to pull spot on but after a few mins lumpy idle.
Starts on the first click of the motor!
Any suggestions?

Re: Fuel tank pressure?
Possibly a faulty injector

Re: Fuel tank pressure?
That's what I thought it would be but the pressure in the tank can't be associated with that surely

Re: Fuel tank pressure?
Could do a leakdown test to check the injectors ?

Re: Fuel tank pressure?
Pressure in the tank is very bad, I'd get that looked at.
If it was vacuum, it's sometimes a case where the fuel has been removed and the air just needs to be drawn in, to replace the fuel. The tank cap should take care of this but might possibly be problematic.

It's not 100% clear on if it's a vacuum or pressure build up, I should of mentioned that.
I'll leave the cap open a little and see if it helps later

I am having the same problem with mine which is a 06 SDI had it read on the machine and comes up misfire detected on cylinder 3 not sure if it's the injector or the loom

Just bought some of that rhino fuel treatment to see if it will clean the fuel system up, you get enough for another car so my Passat is getting the same treatment

Re: Fuel tank pressure?
They will generate a pressure in the thank if the level is low.
Try removing the fuel filter and checking the fuel in the housing .if it has oil in it then possible tandem pump issue. Also if there is fuel in housing then look to change injector seals as they are a common problem on of engines.

Fuel tank pressure?
It's got 3/4 of a tank, serviced it the other day with no oil in the filter housing just dirty fuel (as I expected with no service history for 4 years!)
Ran on crap supermarket fuel too.
If the additive don't clear it, I'll look at getting the seals done
