Retro fit cruise control on 2009 caddy

Post by rabcam »

Hi Guys

Has anyone retro fitted cruise control to their 2009 model caddy...?

Is there an after market kit available, or is it a case of buying all component parts from VW...?

Thanks.

Hi rabcam,

I retrofitted cruise control on my 2007 caddy.

First i had second hand Original parts but after a week the left handle with the buttons broke down. I changed that part for a new one that i ordered on aliexpress.

Sinds a week i retrofitted a golf6 mfsw and i needed a new computermodule under the steeringwheel that part i ordered on ebay. I think that it is a chinese version also because it only cost €68 for a new one.

When the retrofit was done i did not placed it myself but i had let it done. The mfsw i placed that myself.

I dont know what parts you need for a 2009 caddy but for a 2007 it is possible to get them cheaper.

Kind regards,

Hi Rab,

Is this helpful?

Control stick
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Steerin ... f1cbc721e5

Computer
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/MF-Stee ... 029b05c596

On this computer it is also possible to fit a MFSW. But you have to check what slip ring you have and if this computer fits your slip ring.

For more info on what slip ring goes on what computer check the ross tech wiki for the above computer you need a slip ring type 2

Ive not got "clearance " as I'm a newbie on here to view your post.

Icepick 1982,
I'll check out the links you've posted.

I've also been on eBay and found loads of cruise control kits and components.

Cheers guys.
