Vinyl wrap
Has anyone done this diy to their own van. I have got a few stone chips on my bonnet and am thinking of slowly doing the full van myself .

Re: Vinyl wrap
I am undecided between
Matte grey https://carbonsupply.uk/shop/matte/matte-dark-grey/
Or
Matte apple green https://carbonsupply.uk/shop/matte/matte-apple-green/
Not sure what site to buy the wrap from at the minute.
I have watched a few videos and I think (fingers crossed) I can give it a go.
Going to do my bonnet first as it has a few chip in and it’s a bit of a smaller area

Re: Vinyl wrap
Have u checked out dipping it instead I found it much more diy friendly and if your planing on doing the full van maybe easier! If only bonnet sure u would get on fine with vinyl.

Re: Vinyl wrap
I was thinking about wrapping mine but dipping looks a good option, does anyone know what the durability is like?

Re: Vinyl wrap
I agree with Darranm. Dipping is much more DIY friendly and should cover up more of the stone chips whereas the vinyl will still show them up.

Re: Vinyl wrap
Done to a good standard and maintained properly will last and wear same as a vinyl wrap. Neither is a permanent covering but should get 2-3 years before starts and looks tiered.

Dipping as like hydro dipping? Will need some size tank to dip it haha

Re: Vinyl wrap
Ha. Dipping as plasti dip. U spray it on like car paint but u can remove it anytime and it doesn't damage your paint. Looks like a vinyl rap when done.

Re: Vinyl wrap
Best buying a HVLP electric sprayer too and tins of the plastidip paint rather than the aerosol as you'll get a better finish and coverage.

Vinyl wrap
Dipping is fucked up it needs too stay on the paint by "opening" the paint a little to stick on the painted Parts. The part in it is in Dutch called thinner, which normally is used to clean the paint after sanding and repaint the wood of houses again. It Will leave tracés after a period of time on the paint. I'm never gonna spray paint which is in good condition of a car with cardip plastidip or whatever they name it. And if its not covered all before start to dip a car it gets everywhere where you Dont want to have it.
I have wrapped multiple times caddys and other Cars. Just take the Caddy apart as far as possible and start to fo the whole van behind each other not part for part and it gave to be clean!!! As clean as possible for the best result.
