Can you explain exactly how you remove the plastics to get to the speakers?

Follow up on this - I've got a blown speaker in the back of my new (year old) Maxi Life. Need to work out how to get into the plastic to get at the speaker...

Had a nightmare taking the rear panels out. It seemed impossible to remove them without breaking most of the clips. The rear most sections needed to move up, the central sections straight out. First side broke the rear clips, second side the middle ones....

That meant neither side went back in as tightly as before - any advice on how to improve the refit?

Also, sound from the replacement (Pioneer ) speakers surprisingly poor with very little bass response. I'm guessing they needed to be a near airtight fit to get the space behind to work as a cabinet? New to this and a good first experience!

Hello. I had the same kind of problem with the rear speakers. Both are unusable. They seem tu be a real peace of junk. So I tried to find some elliptical replacement and had no luck.
So I intend to mount some 10 cm round speakers.
Getting to the speakers wasn't the hard: It seems that the rear panels are held in place with metallic clips that juts catch the plastic panels.
There are two round plastic clips at the rear (just near the lid lip ).
I didn't remove the whole panel, I just pulled the upper part so I could access the speakers. It just came undone without breaking anything. Then I used a screwdriver to remove the 4 clips that can be accessed from the 2 compartments at the back. One of those broke in the process.

I still have to fit the speakers, but there isn't much space between the mounting support and the grill.
I will post some pictures when it's done.

@moipogi : Did your speakers fit "as is" or did you have to make cutouts?
