Caddy 2K Air Ride

Post by GRM »

Hi guys,

Spoke with Doc earlier about putting a post up about this Caddy 2K Air Ride kit.

We have just finished this particular install so thought I'd post some pictures up and some information on the kit and see if anyone was interested!

Kit details on this van are as follows:

-Airlift Performance front struts, camber adjustable, damping adjustable and height adjustable (threaded bodies).
-Airlift 3H management with 1/4 lines.
-Intermotiv rear set up which has been tweaked slightly. This is using standard shocks.

The wheels are Vereinsport club ones, which are 18 x 8.5.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

This isn't my van, it's a customers we have just finished up. Came in as a standard van with 2k on the clock. It's leaving with the air ride set up, full line out in the back and obviously the wheels.

If anyone wants some pricing on this kit I'd be happy to help!

Here is some pictures of the install, all installed under the van to maximize space inside!

I'm about to drop my maxi on air does the intermotive kit fit the maxi? Or does it need modifying? I know I need airlift 55mm mk5/6golf front struts slam or performance, not sure which one to go for

I have just had my van aired on the intermotive rear kit and had to be modified to suit a maxi. A few parts had to be altered/tweaked
Shorter shocks had to be used too.
Mk5 performance fronts where used to enable camber adjustment

Any pics or info what had to be tweaked?, for me the only issue I see with the intermotive kit is the structural strength where the boxsection has been notched under the axle, then all the weight of the rear of the van is on the bags that are been canter levered, seems a massive weak point, I need a really strong rear set up, I already have some big airlift dominator 2600 bags I'll be using, due to the weight that will be in the back, I'll have 1.2 tonn plus in the back full of audio equipment, may have to end up making my own out of some real thick box section,
How does it drive handling wise been a trailing arm set up with the Watts linkage??

Looks absolutely stunning. Is there any issue with water fitting the compressor under the van? I.e puddles and heavy rain?
