Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
19's certainly look better on a maxi, but if they are wide as well with stretched tyres I think that you definitely forfeit some handling. I think in truth 18's are a wiser option but just don't look as good. Unfortunately if it looks crazy as fook then you do away with handling and go soley for looks. I've 19 x 9j all round with 235/35/19 tyres and they are cumbersome but I've yet to find another wheel I'd rather have looks wise and people do have a good look at them which is cool.

Your 19’s, what tyres do you run, are they the correct load rate ?Maxi4life wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 12:15 am 19's certainly look better on a maxi, but if they are wide as well with stretched tyres I think that you definitely forfeit some handling. Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
Right!
Some good news, bad news and really bad news!!!!!
Good news, vmaxx front spring isn’t broken, was dark and way steering was locked over just looked like it could be.
Bad news, Retrofication didn’t contact me today after leaving them an email asking them to contact me as a matter of urgency regarding warranty.
Really bad news, the grinding noise that came on suddenly yesterday is the gearbox according to the mechanic I use.

I feel for you, my wife’s bmw is getting a gearbox rebuild next week and the warranty company (warranties2000) are being very evasive

That's unusual for a warranty company RicksyRicksy1121 wrote:I feel for you, my wife’s bmw is getting a gearbox rebuild next week and the warranty company (warranties2000) are being very evasive

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
They are budget ones I bought off of 4x4 tyres. You wouldn't want to push them into corners wet, but for £75 per corner I'm not complaining and it's only for a van. I've had Dunlops in the past that have been just as dreadful in the wet. Yes they are load rated 93.Ricksy1121 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 9:03 am Your 19’s, what tyres do you run, are they the correct load rate ?
After a remap etc I'll probably look to improve the tyres.

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
Iv looked all over and asked on a few threads about where to find load rated tyres for 19’s with no joy so yesterday I bought a set of 18’s, now I’m disappointed after looking on that 4x4tyres site.. I could have had 19’s

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
I hear you after getting set on the 19's all I could find online were continental sport contact 3's for £250 a corner.
Then I found 4x4 tyres and was like yeah I'm doin it haha

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
If it's any conciliation for you running 19's is a commitment because at standard power on a 1.6 it's just terrible.Maxi4life wrote:I hear you after getting set on the 19's all I could find online were continental sport contact 3's for £250 a corner.

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
It is some consolation yes haha.. also the ones off 4x4 tyres are budget brand so I’m probs better off with 18’s and branded

Re: Opinions on 18’s vs 19’s
The only issue is that alot of tyre places won't fit your internet bought tyres. It cost me £60 to get mine fitted and balanced.
