Error code P0407???

Post by Mattholder20 »

Been told its something to do with the egr valve... do VAGCOM's tell you exactly what the problem is or just a little bit of detail about the error code?

7343 - EGR Sensor 2 P0407 00 [032] - Signal too Low

You can try cleaning it but it'll most likely need changing for a new EGR valve.

I think the valve is £280 and a pig to fit so lots of labour.

Get a egr delete kit and get the egr mapped out, it will work out much cheaper.

Ok . I certainly wouldn’t recommend the update due to many other component issues and worse mpg but it would be covered by VAG if you had had the 189 update . As a matter of interest what’s your mileage ?

Hi

I've Just had the same issue with my 2011 1.6Tdi. Keeps going into Limp mode and throwing up the P0407 and P0402 error code.
I cleaned it twice using the spray you can buy which seemed to fix and remove both error codes but this only lasted 2 days.

I'm looking at replacing the Valve which you can now get lifetime warranty on is you can get a garage to buy it for you. With the current discount you can get it for £240 and £30 extra for the lifetime warranty. Waiting for a quote on the EGR delete remap so i can make my mind up whether to delete it or replace it. Either or will be happening this week hopefully. Ill keep you guys posted.

Any body else got any idea what the EGR delete remap would cost? i know the hardware is £75 from Darkside

I am in exactly the same predicaments as! Used the spray twice! Exact same error codes and same thoughts about replacements or deletes! Could you explain more to me about the replacement1 with warranty? Any update would be great please, thanks in advance!
