What is this? Aerial? Bluetooth?

Post by Shortyboy521 »

Hi guys I found this little device under the dash speaker grill where a tweeter would go anyone know what it is? I'm thinking aerial as at some point before I got the van the windscreen has been replaced Image

It looks like a GPS aerial.
Do you have satnav?

I wonder if its a tracker. Can't find that logo but the box certainly is about the right size.

Sorry mate no but if it’s a tracker saves you maybe a little on security, gps helps sat nav. Pop into you local car electric or stereo guys they probably know.

A tracker would need a subscription with the company. Quick glance at their prices for a basic system works out about £10 per month. Whether thats the same as your box thats installed you would have to check with them.

What side is it on?

Drivers side remove the lower panel on the drivers side and it will either behind the relay rack (pops out) or just cable tied to the dash frame. Passenger side, remove the glove box and it will be there.

Yes drivers side mate il have a look thanks is it of any use apart from using it as a tracker if the van was to be stolen which I would have to pay a subscription for?

It’s a fleet tracking device, so in all honesty rip it out. SVR units are cheap now I do one for £230 +vat inc first year subscription.
