Mk3 caddy windscreen washer jets

Post by Ghost-rider »

Hiya all, just wondering if this was a common fault, open the bonnet this morning to find screen wash fluid dripping out of the washer jets in the back edge of the bonnet, took em both out, wiped em clean and applied a bit of vaseline to each one and then refitted, one seems to have sealed but the other wont, best to just replace it?? Or does amyone know anything else?? TIA

Had another look at this, or are the washer jets just a shit design, in as much as if you wash your screen say on the drive and then open the bonnet, its the left over screenwash thats sat in the jets that runs out evrwhere when you open the bonnet?? Anybody else get the same???

Got talkin to the parts bloke i know at my local van centre today, he had a look at a couple of caddys theyd got there, squirted the washers then opened the bonnet, yep washer fluid pours out onto the engine and battery, bit of a shite design, but i spose really how many times do you open the bonnet after youve just washed the windscreenImage

Got an ageing bmw that does this, seems the pipe pops off every time it freezes,- maybe more concentrate in the washer fluid?

Also does it in hot weather when the fluid in the pipes expands...
