Did you get a quote from Maserati? That's absolutely shocking, stay well clear of that one! By the way, can I come and give you a quote for some K-Rend coloured scratch render?
One of the lads on here got a timing belt and water pump fitted and a new egr all for £700, it's on the thread, 'Timing belt at 113k'

I had timing belt water pump and tensioners fitted at the same time as my egr valve and it was £670

Find another garage, a small local garage. Was that a main dealer you went to ?

That’s astronomical . I think dealers charge £1300 ish but I am not recommending paying that much either . Have you had the software fix ? If so it’s covered under the trust building programme through VAG if it’s done under 160,000 miles .

I've got my van in the garage that my boss uses for the work vans, there's a problem with the fuel filter housing letting air in which he is sorting for £35, he's also gonna fit a Gates timing belt, tensioners and water pump all in for £150!

With prices like that he’s already fu*king his self 😂😂

I think the egr valve was £280 or there abouts then 6hours labour, was roundabout £430 but I’d have to check the invoice

I had EGR blanked on my old T5, and the delete done.. never had any issues while I had it and did a rake of miles... but I was talking to a M8 thats an MOT tester the other day and he told me there are a load of new tests coming in.. and one of them relates to EGR valves.. due to the number of people blanking them..

I didnt get into the detail with him but might be something to think about..
