Just collected a set of 18” VW Santiagos at what I think is a good price so I’m really happy. Not gonna fit them yet with the current snow conditions in Cumbria, will stick with my winter tyres for a month or so.

Re: What size alloys?

Re: What size alloys?
Hi, relatively new to this whole world!
Apologies for digging up an old thread, can someone advise please...
I have a Mk4 Maxi currently on the OE 15" steels.
I have just got hold of some banded t5/6 wheels (the old caravelle ones) which are 17s.
Front are 8.5J and rear 9J (both up from 7J stock), with original offset being 56mm (not sure how this has changed with the banding)
Obviously I'll need to use stud adapters to go from the 5x120 to 5x112 which are 20mm
I have used the fitment calc online and had come to the conclusion they will fit, however now the money has changed hands I'm second guessing myself...
Can someone help please!

Re: What size alloys?
Hy , do I need to modify something to put such concave wheels on the rear?

@Davey B
They’re gonna be pretty pokey at that width/et. With a fairly stretched tyre and 60mm drop you should get away with it not looking ridiculous. 225 45 tyre all round should work and have the required load rating (if you’re bothered about that)

Re: What size alloys?
Hi mate, thanks for the reply!
Yeah will be dropping at the same time - hate the standard ride height as most do
Checking "will they fit" with the size of RKDesigns' Caddys, it looks like they stand further away from the inner arch and poke only slightly more.
Hopeful and feeling a bit more confident, really appreciate the reply. First big mod for me so hoping it all goes to plan!!

No probs mate. Not an easy wheel/adapter/et size to predict as you may have clearance issues on the inside too.
Get some pics up if they work out
