My local dealer done the emissions fix to my wife's car when it went in for a spare key only. I created war with them and VW Ireland and they eventually reversed it and put the old software back on. Or as far as I know they did as I have no way of knowing for sure. VW Ireland did send a letter to state that it has been reversed and returned to the original software but it is VW who i just dont trust and also paper doesn't refuse ink. The dealer then gave us a shed load of VW branded stuff.
My advice for you and anyone dealing with dealers with issues like this is always do it in email, they take it a lot more seriously than phone calls.
