It would never have even crossed my mind to use any of my Whisky for that. I'd rather drink the whisky and walk to work pished than use it on my windows. I'd still feel a bit weird just pouring away vodka tho.. Crap alcohol is better than no alcohol!

Definitely a better idea than drinking the whisky, defrosting the van with vodka, then driving to work!!

Why don't eighter of you use the service stand?

stop the engine leaf the key in, wipe one time and the wipers will stand straight.
take your key out and pull the wipers up for the night,
when you start your car again wipe once and they wil go down

This is how you change your wipers to instead of opening the hood

Never knew that Dutchy. Always wondered how you’d change the blades without opening the bonnet. Cheers for the info

Just try it, your wipers will not frost to your screen .
de-icing and make it snow free is a lot easyer

The problem was the wipers compacting snow into the scuttle while in use, if I put them in blade changing mode in a blizzard I won't get ice in the scuttle but I can see other problems occurring
