How many cans of glue did you buy? I was thinking of 6. 1 per metre seems to be what they supply when you buy the carpet and glue as a kitsausagefingers wrote: โSat Mar 10, 2018 8:16 am Just checked and I bought 5m and there wasn't a scrap left plus I used every bit of glue, hardest bit I found was cutting the bloody stuff - it's a lot tougher than it looks.

Re: Best way to carpert the rear
This is what I bought mate https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5m-Mega-Van- ... 2749.l2649
There was absolutely nothing left, it looked like there would be loads left over but I was sweating at the end
Wish I'd known about the fabric scissors, I used my decorator's shears and knives which are really sharp but that carpetting is bastard tough to cut. I did my sides and back doors, thought I'd have enough for roof but no chance
Good luck, give yourself plenty of room to work in and take your time. I've never done it before so it's far from as good as some of the jobs you see on here but I'm more than happy with it. The difference in sound is unbelievable, worth every penny

Interested in this also.
How have people carpeted the metal work, panels i can understand applying the carpet is pretty straight forward as its flat panels...but the rear archs for example?
How is that done so well?

I did the sides first in one piece per side, then laid the wheel arches last and trimmed with new blades. Then did the back edges around the opening last.

Re: Best way to carpert the rear
Next week's job for me I've done a few Landrover 90s ,they are a bugger as many right angles ,no curved panels
Time and patience along with sharp tools is the way
The photos show a cracking job on the blue caddy
My new to me Caddy will be for fishing and the dogs so doesn't have to be mint just like to tidy the back end up
I've got hold of some soundeadening rubber mat made of old tyre shreds ,.stabilised so it doesn't stink
Heavy though

Re: Best way to carpert the rear
Some nice carpeting there fellas. Just started sound deadening mine. Will be insulated then carpeted so might be after some info when i get to that stage. Not going to ply mine completely but leave the indents at the top so I can get some good cargo net storage like this thread.. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24530
