140ps Caddys
Am i being too picky or are nice 140 caddys hard to find?
Got a budget of upto £12000 but can't seem to find one with the extras i want and low mileage.
Are the 140 six speed ones not that popular or people just aren't selling them?

It took me ages to find mine. Looked country wide too! I got mine for £14000 with just over 8000 miles on it. It has the 6 speed gearbox and high line spec.
They are out there but I agree that they seem to be rocking horse s**t.

Re: 140ps Caddys
I think you're being more than reasonable in expecting to get a good clean van for that money at that age.
It took me five months to find the van I wanted , due to availability and what I was prepared to accept .
Once I'd found the van, it took another three months for the guy to make his mind up to sell it, and I had to up my budget to get it.
However, I'm glad I stuck it out to get a 140 , and so far happy that I did. Six speed makes all the difference.
During this time I never stopped looking, but I knew I'd already seen what I wanted, and to be honest there wasn't much on the market, certainly nothing better.
My advice is stick it out, and when you know you're happy, even if it means perhaps adding a little more , buy it.

Will stick at it as i have a 6 speed scirroco 170 at the moment and wouldn't want to go back to a 5 speed. Seen a couple so far, 1 I regret not buying on the spot but it sold the day after I test drove it. Was early in my search and didn't realise how hard they were to find. Viewed another 1 this week but the paint work was terrible.

Took me 4 or 5 months to find mine, I wouldn’t let Milage put you off if it’s had good servicing and looked after.

£12K? Here in the NL you would get an older one with a lot kilometers on it for that amount. Are quite rare as Well.

I posted a thread on a 17 plate Caddy 4 in Blackberry, category N but only needed a wing and a windscreen, it was a 2.0 and at just over six grand with one day to go, gone now obviously

What did it make in the end ? What site? I would definitely have been interested. I have bodyshop and would love a second little shop van as the T5's are hard on juice.

Re: 140ps Caddys
Didn't see the final price but it's a cracking little van and a doddle to fix, would have bid if I'd had the cash. Car Transplants by the way. It was a Highline I forgot to mention

Re: 140ps Caddys
I managed to get my 140ps 2.0 tdi match for £5k. It’s a high miler but a one owner mint condition van. It’s a rare twin slider/tailgate model. But like you, found it hard to find one!
Pleased I went for the 2.0 though, I’ve heard some of the 1.6s suffer badly with things like injectors
