MPG seems low

Just done some rough calculations on mpg as it felt I was getting through a fair bit of fuel.

Over a couple of half fills I got 700 miles out of 67l. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's 10.44 miles per litre which is 39mpg.

It's a 2l maxi kombi 140. Largely motorway driving but some city stuff. occasionally a heavy foot but not silly, never loaded with much weight.

Does that sound low? Anything I can do about it?

I calculate yours to be 47.5mpg which is actually pretty good. I would love to get that in my kombi maxi!
