Brake fluid

So today my brakes basically failed. Worn the pad down to nothing resulting in the calliper pushing against the disc and leaking brake fluid. There's no fluid left so will need to top it up. Any idea how much I'd need to refill the system? 500ml, 1ltr?

You will deffo need 1 litre to get the air out the system. This will be enough to bleed all four corners.
